This is an EXTREMELY blessed post! And accurate! When I first moved out I was so excited for my new place I slept on the floor and had my tv there and that was it. Loved it. You grow and you build and you gain and you lose. I lost that place and everything in it. Now I have a new place with new things and it’s very much home.
In the future, there is a small, quiet room that is just yours, where you are safe and you are free. In that room your shoulders will finally start to come down from around your ears. Nobody can come into that room unless you let them. In that clean quiet place, you will work and you will study. You will love and you will heal.

joining the war on kids reading any book they want on the side of kids reading any book they want. simply you will be fine. it's even good to be confronted with things you don't understand and even find upsetting, uncomfortable and difficult. it's a surprise tool that will help you later.

literally ok so not a funny story but kind of funny? when I was nine I encountered rape in a book and I was like hey mom what’s this mean and she explained it and I was like oh. gross. and then like two weeks later a girl on the bus abruptly disclosed her csa and we were all like ????? what ???? but I was like wait hang on there’s a word for that ☝️🤓 and explained what it meant and that it was illegal and that you could talk to a teacher or my mom if it had happened to you and everyone was like ohhhhh I see I see and very somberly comforted the girl (she was safe she was removed from her home and living with my neighbor at the time so it wasn’t Urgent)
And this is a perfect illustration of why it is important for kids to read or variety of things, and why abusers don’t want them to.
whenever you see C#m on a chord sheet you know the musician was just playing bar chords and couldn’t resist the temptation of the most annoying chord in the god damn book
so i just noticed that c sharp minor is a bit shocking to read when spelled out in shorthand
whenever you see cum on a chord sheet you know the musician was just jackin it
i heard there was a secret chord that david played and it… no. i shan’t
If birds had language as nuanced and complex as people do, urban birds would definitely have arguments about baby strollers. They'd look at people going around with them and think "huh damn, they've got nests that they can just move around. Wouldn't that be so convenient" and then some other one would go "yeah sure but they walk everywhere, how would you make a nest you could fly with?" and then keep arguing.
Someone is pretty sure that since the wheely-pushed portable nests only ever have human hatchlings in them, then surely they carry eggs some other way. Probably in those backpacks. The other birds agree that this is a stupid idea. They all disagree on why it can't be like that, but they all agree that humans don't carry eggs around.
Birds have had *checks notes* over 66 million years of language development time. This may be why they have one of the most developed sound production systems of any species. When we decipher their languages, we may find oral traditions too complex for us to fathom. Consider that as you listen to an Australian magpie compose the equivalent of a Verdi aria Every. Single. Morning.
Do you think they argue about what humans would argue about if humans could talk?
